Hi, I am Preena!

I provide assessments for Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) for children, young people, and adults. Whether you are seeking clarity for yourself, your child, or an employee, my aim is to offer a supportive, thorough, and professional assessment experience.
My assessments focus on identifying both strengths and areas of difficulty, with clear, practical recommendations that help individuals move forward with confidence in education, work, or everyday life.
I provide diagnostic assessments for dyslexia for both children and adults. For children aged 8–12 years, I work with trusted colleagues who specialise in this age group; my own assessments focus on children from age 12/13 upwards.
I also carry out SpLD assessments in line with SASC guidance, which can highlight indicators of conditions such as ADHD and dyspraxia. These reports do not provide a medical diagnosis, but they offer a detailed profile of learning strengths and challenges.
All reports are designed to support access to:
Reasonable adjustments in education and the workplace
Specialist interventions and teaching strategies
Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA) at university
Workplace support and, where appropriate, onward referral to clinical professionals
By keeping up to date with the latest SASC guidance and research, I ensure my assessments reflect current best practice and provide a strong foundation for tailored support.

About Me
I am Preena Lee, a qualified dyslexia assessor with over 22 years of experience teaching and supporting learners of all ages, but predominantly post-16. I am Level 7 qualified and have an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). I am a member of Dyslexia Guild and PATOSS, meaning my assessments are fully recognised by schools, universities, and workplaces.
I have worked across schools, colleges, universities, and different workplaces, helping people better understand their learning profiles. I believe that dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) should never be seen as a limitation, but rather as a difference that, with the right support, can unlock potential.
My approach is calm, professional, and compassionate. I aim to make the assessment process as stress-free and positive as possible.
I provide professional diagnostic assessments for dyslexia in children, and for dyslexia, dyspraxia, and ADHD in students aged 16+ and adults. Based in Derby, I also offer remote assessments for those further afield. Whether you are seeking clarity for yourself, your child, or an employee, my aim is to deliver a thorough, supportive, and fully recognised assessment experience.
A diagnostic assessment can open doors to the right support in education or the workplace. My reports highlight strengths as well as areas of difficulty, giving clear and practical recommendations so that each individual can move forward with confidence.
All assessments adhere to SASC Guidelines.
